I am passionate and enthusiastic about helping my clients achieve their goals. As a fitness professional, I know first-hand how determination and commitment can change people’s lives forever. My focus is to help you reach your full potential and be the best version of yourself!!
Fitness has been my lifelong passion. Since I was a little boy I’ve been shooting, dribbling, pitching, or hitting a ball. I am a former NCCAA Division I collegiate tennis player. Today I am an avid runner, recently qualifying for the Boston Marathon with a 3:11 finish. I am also a member of the Gold Country Racing team. I enjoy running marathons and ultra-marathons, cycling, and weight lifting. Running and training has taught me that the body achieves what the mind believes. If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you.
I am a certified personal trainer and have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Health and Physical Education from Saint Mary’s College. I have been coaching youth sports for the past 20 years and I am currently the girls’ varsity basketball coach at Holy Trinity School. I also hold coaching certifications through both the Positive Coaching Alliance and The Play Like a Champion program through Notre Dame University. Throughout my many years of coaching I have found that people rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing.

Fitness has always been important to me. In my preteen and teenage years, I was a competitive gymnast, collegiate cheerleader, and runner. I continue to stay fit as an adult through lifting weights, and my passion, running. This year I will take on several races as a member of the Gold Country Running and Racing Team. I have completed several half and I am currently training for my second full marathon. I began focused weight lifting 10 years ago and love it.
As a Mother of 4, I experienced all the hurdles pregnancy can present. After the birth of my first child I found myself 30 pounds heavier and deconditioned. I learned first hand, hard work pays dividends. I educated myself about nutrition, got to the gym, and lost all the extra weight -- 1 pound at a time. I also learned to stay safely active during my subsequent pregnancies making the hard work of postpartum a little easier. My personal experience and my passion for guiding others toward their goals lead me to become a Certified Personal Trainer in 2009. I now own Unlocked Fitness in Cameron Park and offer Group Training and Personal Training options. I live, eat, and breathe fitness and nutrition. I love to absorb all I can about the human body and how it functions. I enjoy hiking, running, weight lifting, indoor cycling, and above all else, playing with my 4 amazing daughters. I enjoy reading, being outdoors, and creating healthy meals for my family. I believe that each person has what it takes to unlock their fittest self. No quick fixes, just hard work toward victories along the way.
As a Personal Trainer, I teach my clients to work hard in a fun and exciting way. While I firmly believe that goals are important, I also know that fitness isn’t linear, it is ever-changing. There are successes and setbacks requiring constant re-evaluation. I am committed to guiding my clients toward their personal goals and educating them on how to maintain their success – maybe even daring to go further than they imagined possible. As my clients train with me, I hope they discover a renewed sense of pride that will carry into their daily lives. Fitness is my passion and I hope to share it.

Fitness is a very important part of my life. I have found it to be a great way to relieve stress. As a part time kindergarten teacher, wife, and mother of two, I’ve found that there is really never enough time to get everything done. You just have to learn to make time for your emotional and physical health in your routine. You will feel better and look better when you make it a priority. I played competitive soccer all the way through high school and later in life found my passion in group exercise and weight lifting. Interval training and circuit style workouts have proven to be very effective for me. Its a great way to get a total body workout in the least amount of time. I’ve also seen the most changes in my body doing these types of workouts. After I had my daughter six years ago, I found myself with 35 pounds of weight to lose and not enough time to workout! I was able to get the weight off with a trainer doing interval style workouts using free weights and body weight exercises. I also had to learn to change my eating habits for the better. I started running about three years ago to release stress. I’ve since run four half marathons and many 10k and 5k races. I love the discipline in finding a race training plan and sticking to it for twelve weeks prior to each half marathon. With each race, my time improves and I learn more. I’m excited to share my passion for exercise that works. I want to make each class effective for all of our clients!
